We spent our morning getting our hands a little dirty with some great church friends to give back to the local transitional housing program. Vine Maple Place does so many wonderful things for our community, the least we can do is give a Saturday morning to help clear blackberry bushes and spruce up their facilities.
This organization provides transitional housing and support skills to homeless single moms (or dads) and their children. The families can stay in their transistional home for 2 years while they are provided opportunities for job training and/or higher education, financial coaching, instruction in life skills, on-site case management, mentorship, and child advocacy. We enjoy supporting this organization because they are so passionate about what they do and it is so rewarding to see the families succeed.
