Washington is a beautiful state but you have to pay a price to enjoy it. We are into our 6th month of daily overcast and rain. This vacation could not have come at a better time. We left the pouring rain to find 85 degrees and lots of sunshine waiting for us...
...not to mention blue waters and soft sandy beaches.
While Gavin and I found Florida, Mike found his sun in Las Vegas with some high school friends (no pictures allowed). Our first night in West Palm Beach we saw my favorite country artist, Kenny! Although, Gavin was the entertainment of the evening for everyone around us. His Rock Star personality came out that night!
Gavin had 2 things on his agenda for our trip, the beach and to see a lighthouse. I'm glad to say we were able to accomplish both.
Gavin was still not a fan of the water but loved the sand at the beach. He finally got to dig and dig without anyone yelling at him.
Unfortunately Gavin wasn't able to climb this lighthouse because of his height and the span of the stairs but he said he still had fun. After the lighthouse we went to a sea turtle hospital. We learned about some of the injuries and illnesses of the rescued turtles. We have been keeping tabs on Gavin's favorite sea turtle, Andre, through their live cam.
It was definitely a struggle for us to get on the plane to come back to a forecast of at least 10 more days of cloudy skies and rain, but were excited to get home and see Daddy!
Thanks Mom and Dad for another wonderful vacation and Thank you Uncle Mike and Aunt Chris for hosting our rowdy bunch again! We look forward to doing it all again next year! :-)
